Dental Implant
Dental Implants:
The Gold Standard for Tooth Replacement
A permanent, medical-grade solution to restore function, aesthetics, and long-term oral health.

Understanding Dental Implant Surgery
What is a Dental Implant? A dental implant is a medical-grade titanium post that is surgically positioned into the jawbone beneath the gum line. It functions as an artificial tooth root, providing a stable, permanent foundation for a replacement tooth (crown), bridge, or denture.
Who Can Benefit?
This procedure is ideal for adults in good general health with one or more missing teeth. Candidates typically have:
- ✅ One or more missing teeth
- ✅ A failing tooth or root canal
- ✅ Discomfort with loose dentures
- ✅ A desire for a permanent, fixed solution
- ✅ Adequate jawbone to secure the implant (or are candidates for grafting)
Why It's Medically Important
Beyond aesthetics, implants are crucial for oral health. When a tooth is lost, the jawbone in that area begins to atrophy (shrink). Implants are the only solution that:
- ✅ Prevent Jawbone Loss: The implant fuses with the bone (osseointegration), stimulating it like a natural root.
- ✅ Maintain Facial Structure: Prevents facial sagging that occurs with bone loss.
- ✅ Restore Chewing Function: Allows for a normal diet and improves digestion.
- ✅ Protect Adjacent Teeth: Unlike bridges, implants don't require grinding down healthy neighboring teeth.
Implant Types & Restoration Options

| Treatment Type | Best For | Mechanism |
|---|---|---|
| Single Tooth Implant | Replacing one missing tooth. | One implant is placed, and one crown (artificial tooth) is attached. |
| Implant-Supported Bridge | Replacing 2-4 missing teeth in a row. | Two implants are placed to support a bridge of 3-4 crowns, "bridging" the gap. |
| Full-Arch Restoration (e.g., All-on-4®) | Replacing all teeth in an upper or lower arch. | A full set of teeth (denture) is permanently fixed using just 4, 5, or 6 strategically placed implants. |
📍 Advanced Technology: 3D CBCT & Surgical Guides
At Amir Beladi Polyclinic, we do not guess. Every implant case begins with a Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scan. This 3D x-ray provides a precise map of your bone structure, nerve pathways, and sinuses. This data allows us to digitally plan the surgery and create a CAD/CAM surgical guide, ensuring the implant is placed with sub-millimeter accuracy for maximum safety and success.
The Procedure: A Phased Approach

Consultation & 3D Planning
60 Minutes
- Medical history review
- High-resolution CBCT 3D scan
- Digital analysis of bone density
- Finalize treatment plan (implant type, need for grafting)
Implant Placement (Surgery)
60-90 Minutes per implant
- Local anesthesia is administered (completely numb)
- A small incision is made in the gum
- Implant is placed using the 3D surgical guide
- Area is sutured (stitched) for healing
Osseointegration (Healing)
3-6 Months
- The crucial healing phase.
- The jawbone grows onto and fuses with the titanium implant.
- This process makes the implant a permanent, stable part of your jaw.
Final Restoration (Crown)
2 Appointments
- The implant is uncovered and an "abutment" (connector) is attached.
- A digital scan is taken for your custom-made porcelain crown.
- The final crown is attached, completing your new tooth.
Pre-Treatment Preparation Guidelines
2-4 Weeks Before
- Undergo comprehensive exam and 3D CBCT scan.
- If required, schedule bone grafting or sinus lift. This may need 3-6 months of healing before implant placement.
- Receive a professional dental cleaning.
1 Week Before
- Stop smoking. This is the #1 risk factor for implant failure.
- Discuss any blood-thinning medications (Aspirin, etc.) with your GP and our surgeon.
- Ensure any chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes) are well-managed.
Day of Surgery
- Take prescribed antibiotic pre-medication 1 hour before.
- Eat a good meal, as you will be on a soft diet after.
- Arrange for someone to drive you home.
- Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.
⚠️ Special Consideration: Bone Grafting
If your CBCT scan shows insufficient bone volume (often due to long-term tooth loss), a bone graft or sinus lift (for upper jaw) is required. This is a separate procedure to rebuild the foundation. This step is critical for the implant's long-term stability and will be discussed during your consultation.
Aftercare & Recovery Timeline
First 24-48 Hours (Acute Phase)
Expect mild swelling, bruising, and minor bleeding. This is normal.
- ✓ Apply ice packs (20 min on, 20 min off).
- ✓ Cold, soft diet only (smoothies, yogurt).
- ✓ Take prescribed pain medication.
- ✗ DO NOT spit, rinse, or use a straw.
Week 1 (Healing Phase)
Swelling will peak and begin to subside. Sutures are still in place.
- ✓ Begin gentle warm salt-water rinses after 48h.
- ✓ Eat soft foods (pasta, eggs, fish).
- ✗ DO NOT smoke.
- ✗ DO NOT brush the surgical site (brush other teeth).
Long-Term Care (Months 1+)
The bone is now fusing (osseointegration). The implant is not yet fully stable.
- ✓ Maintain excellent oral hygiene.
- ✓ Attend all follow-up appointments.
- ✗ DO NOT chew hard foods on the implant site until the final crown is placed.
⚠️ Warning Signs: Contact Us Immediately
Contact our clinic 24/7 if you experience:
- Severe or increasing pain after Day 3
- Persistent, bright red bleeding
- Fever, chills, or pus from the site (infection)
- Numbness in the lip/chin lasting >12 hours
Safety, Side Effects, and Clinic Protocols
Common Side Effects (Temporary)
- Swelling (Edema): ~90%. Peaks Day 2-3, resolves by Day 7.
- Bruising: ~70%. May appear on cheek or neck, resolves in 7-10 days.
- Mild Discomfort: ~100%. Easily managed with prescribed pain medication.
Rare Complications
- ⚠️ Implant Failure (Non-Integration): ~2-5%. Strongly linked to smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, or poor hygiene.
- ⚠️ Infection (Peri-implantitis): Rare, but can occur from poor long-term hygiene.
- ⚠️ Nerve/Sinus Complications: Extremely rare (<1%) and minimized with 3D CBCT planning.
Amir Beladi Safety Protocols
- Mandatory CBCT 3D Scanning: We never perform "freehand" surgery. Every implant is digitally planned to avoid nerves, sinuses, and other vital structures.
- Sterile Surgical Suite: All implant surgeries are performed in a dedicated, sterile surgical room, not a standard dental chair, to minimize infection risk.
- Strict Contraindication Checks: We do not operate on patients with uncontrolled medical conditions or active smokers without a cessation plan, as this compromises success.
Results & Realistic Expectations

Realistic Timeline
- Day 1: Implant placed.
- Week 1-2: Sutures removed, soft tissue healed.
- Month 3-6: Bone fusion (osseointegration) complete.
- Month 6-7: Final, permanent crown attached.
Maintenance Requirements
- Daily: Brush and floss just like a natural tooth.
- 6-Month: Professional cleanings and check-ups are mandatory.
- Annually: Periodic x-ray to check bone levels.
- (Note: The implant cannot decay, but the gum around it can get infected, just like a natural tooth.)
Success Rates
With proper 3D planning, surgical execution, and patient maintenance, dental implants have a long-term success rate of over 95-98%, making them one of the most predictable and reliable procedures in modern medicine. With proper care, they are designed to last a lifetime.
Personalized Treatment Investment
A dental implant is a complex, multi-stage medical procedure, not a single product. A "one-price-fits-all" approach is not medically responsible. Your investment is determined by a detailed clinical assessment and 3D scan.
Your Personalized Quote Depends On:
- • Number of implants required.
- • The need for bone grafting or a sinus lift.
- • The type of final restoration (e.g., single crown vs. full-arch bridge).
- • The specific implant brand and crown materials chosen.
We provide a transparent, all-inclusive quote covering all stages (surgery, parts, and final crown) after your consultation.
