Abutment & Impression Appointment

45-60 Minutes

• Your prosthodontist confirms the implant is fully healed (via X-ray).
• The abutment (connector piece) is attached to the implant. This is non-surgical.
• A high-precision 3D digital scan is taken of the abutment and surrounding teeth.
• We perform digital shade matching to select the perfect color for your new tooth.
• A temporary crown may be placed if needed.

Laboratory Fabrication

1-2 Weeks

• The digital scans are sent to our master dental lab.
• Your permanent crown is milled from a solid block of Zirconia or E-max using CAD/CAM technology.
• Master technicians apply custom stains and glazes to create a life-like, natural appearance.

Final Fitting & Cementation

30-45 Minutes

• Your temporary (if any) is removed.
• The final crown is tried in to check for perfect fit, color, and contact with other teeth.
• We check your occlusion (bite) meticulously to ensure proper function.
• Once approved, the crown is permanently fixed to the abutment using a strong dental cement or a small screw (screw-retained).
• You leave the clinic with your new, fully functional tooth.

Prerequisite: Implant Healing

• The most crucial step is ensuring your dental implant has fully osseointegrated (fused with your jawbone).
• This healing period takes 3 to 6 months *after* your implant surgery.
• We will confirm this with a clinical exam and X-ray.

1-2 Weeks Before

• Teeth Whitening: If you plan to whiten your teeth, do it *before* this appointment. The crown will be matched to your final shade and cannot be whitened later.
• Maintain excellent oral hygiene.

Day of Appointment

• Arrive with clean, well-brushed teeth.
• No fasting or special dietary restrictions are needed.
• This is a non-surgical appointment, and you can drive and return to work immediately.

First 24-48 Hours

The bite may feel slightly different, which is normal. Gums may be mildly tender.

• ✓ If cemented, avoid chewing hard or sticky foods on the crown for 24 hours.
• ✓ You can brush and floss normally, but gently around the new crown.
• ✗ DO NOT pull up on floss; pull it through the side.

Long-Term Care

Treat your implant crown exactly like a natural tooth.

• ✓ Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste.
• ✓ Floss daily. This is critical to prevent gum disease around the implant.
• ✓ Attend 6-month dental check-ups and cleanings without fail.
• ✓ Wear a night guard if you grind or clench your teeth (bruxism) to protect the porcelain.

• Gum Sensitivity: ~15%. Mild tenderness for 1-2 days.

Rare Complications
